Girl’s Family Hotel Attacked for Her Petition on Hijab at Court

Udupi : A hotel owned by a person whose daughter has filed a petition with Karnataka High Court on wearing Hijabs ( Head Scarfs) was attacked and brother of the girl was beaten, the incident occurred at Malpe at around 9.30pm on Monday.

Student Hajra Shifa through twitter alleged that ‘Hotel Bismilha’ which her family run was stoned and later her brother Saif who was at the hotel was beaten badly. She said the miscreants gang consisted of about 50 people pelted stones on the hotel breaking its window glass shields.

She said the hotel was attacked and her brother was beaten because of her petition filed with the court questioning the order of the government about preventing entry into the classrooms with Hijabs. Shifa is one among the three girls who first filed petition with the High Court.

Shifa’s brother Saif has been admitted at a private hospital in Udupi.
