Belagavi : If things go as planned, not only the students from Karnataka but also from other states of the nation who left back Ukraine with discontinued medical education can continue the same in their own land. The Deemed Universities of Karnataka has proposed to accommodate the students to continue their education in medical colleges in Karnataka.
Though gone with hope to return with a medical practitioner certificate, the Indian students need not to loose hope as the Consortium of Deemed Universities in Karnataka has covered its palms to their flame of light should not go off as it decided to accommodate the students in Karnataka medical colleges.
Deemed Universities Karnataka Chairman Prabhakar Kore, who is also the chairman of the KLE Society Belagavi said that as their duty towards the nation, the medical colleges coming under the consortium have decided to admit these students.
Kore who is also the chancellor of the KLE University said that a meeting was held in this regard wherein all the technical and academic aspects were discussed and it was decided to admit these students to the medical colleges in Karnataka coming under deemed university.
“ Medical students returned to India over war at Ukraine are facing uncertainty, Its our responsibility to accommodate those students, however, Government of India has to decide as to how these students could be admitted in Indian medical colleges,” Kore said.
Russia-Ukraine war has posed big challenges to the nations across the globe, more so for the Indian students who were in Ukraine for their higher studies.
“Rising up to the occasion Government of India initiated ‘Operation Ganga’ to airlift Indians. It is our duty to accommodate these students, ” Kore said.
However, Government of India should issue instructions and the regulations in this regard, he said assuring students to be patient and to rest assured that their concerns will be addressed and their future will be secured.
