Bengaluru : It should not be said that he took an ‘U Turn’ from quitting the Congress gor his political feature, however, its nothing but to prevent BJP from gaining over his quit.
Congress MLC CM Ibrahim who was disappointed after he was not made the leader of the Opposition in Karnataka Legislative Council had announced of quitting the great grand old party Congress, however, postponed temorarily to avoid Opposition BJP from utilising benefits from his quitting. BJP which has insufficient votes to get passed the Anti Religious Conversion Bill in Legislative Council would get passed the bill if he resigned to the house. ” I’ll remain in Congress to avoid BJP from getting political gain, ” he said.
Speaking to reporters Ibrahim said that he had decided to quit Congress as he was disappointed with some political developments, however, changed the mind to not to allow gor the benefits of other political parties.
He said ” I was disappointed with some developments. But the party high command has invited me for talks, and based on the outcome of the meeting and after consultation with the supporters, I will arrive at a decision,” he said. Ibrahim added that there was Ibrahim makes U-turn on decision to quit Congress.
“Many in the Congress will quit if I leave the party. The BJP in the Legislative Council will have an upper hand if I resign. The party high command has asked me to wait. However, my decision will be final. I will soon announce my decision.” he said.
