Dharwad: The Railway Ministry has kept Rs 20crore for the work to be undertaken between Dharward and Kittur in Hubballi-Belagavi Railway project, parallel to Pune-Bengaluru national highway, said South Western Railway General Manager Sandeep Kishore.
He said, apart from easing the journey, the Dharwad – Kittur- Belagavi route will strengthen the trade relation between 2 commercial cities- Hubballi and Belagavi. The new track will cut-off the journey by about 1hour from 110km to 72km between Dharwad and Belagavi.
335 hectares of land between Dharwad- Kittur is yet to to be acquired for the ongoing project, Ssndeep Kishore added.
