Panajim : The BJP high command has showed green signal to former Khanapur Independent MLA Aravind Patil to join the party.
Being a member of pro-Maharashtrians organisation Maharashtra Ekikaran Samiti he worked for BJP in last two by-election including to Belagavi Loksabha. However, the party follwed ‘wait and watch’ policy on him.
Patil met former Maharashtra CM, and party’s Goa election In-charge Devendra Fadnavis at Goa on Tuesday and requested to take him into party’s fold. After got positive response, he told Karnataka news persons that he would join the party without any condition.
The party, according to sources, will contest for assembly election from Khanapur constituency from the party. Contested independently with the support of MES, he lost the last polls to Congress candidate Dr Anjali Nimbalkar and after he was trying to switch to BJP.
