Belagavi : As official visited the propsed site identified to establish STP plant, farmers ghearao them and warned they commit enmasse suicide if the project was not dropped.
Farmers didn’t allowed the officials to enter the site. Farmers said it was contempt of court as they could not enter the project site as the matter is in the court. Government proposed to establish STP near Harikaka Compound near Vegetable Market near Gandhi nagar.
On the other hand, dozens of farmers including women protested on Old Pune- Bengaluru Highway, with petrol in the plastic container, sticks, sickle. They warned of burning themselves if the project was not dropped.
