Bengaluru : To register its disappointment over Karnataka High Court verdict on Hijab, the Muslim community is observing Karnataka bandh on Thursday. Almost all the business establishment of the community is closed throughout the state.
The Bengaluru based Musilm organisation – Ameer-E-Shariyat- given call to observe state bandh on Thursday. The business from other community at Muslim dominated areas also closed.
Moulana Sageer Ahmed said the Muslim community was disappointed with the court verdict on Muslim women wearing Hijab and called people to record their disagree to the order by observung bandh tomorrow.
He appealed his community people not to force anyone to support the bandh and there would be to rally, march as part of the bundh.
Setting aside the petitions filed questioning the government order on banning wearing of Hijab in the classrooms, the High Court said “Wearing Hijab is not the Muslim Religious Practice” and has upheld government order.
Meanwhile, the verdict of the Karnataka High Court would be questioned at Supreme Court.
