Mandya : A woman who had an illicit relation with a married man was behind the killing of five members of his family – his wife and his four minor-aged children – at Mandya district on Feb 6.
The 34-year-old killer woman – by name Laxmi – had intended kill only her paramour’s wife thinking that she would get him if his wife was no more. However, she also killed his four children as they who were sleeping got up after hearing the screaming of their mother.
Gangaram’s wife Laxmi, 32, and their children Raj, 13, Govind, 8, Komal, 7, and Kunal, 4, were the deceased who were brutally killed by their former’s paramour Laxmi.
Accused Laxmi who is a relative of Gangaram, the resident of KRS Bazaarline in Srirangapattana taluk, was loving him before his marriage and even continued relation after his wedding. She used to force him to go divorce his wife and marry her. When her plead was not workedout she planned to kill his wife so that she can stay with him.
Laxmi, with a plan to kill Gangaram’s wife, been to his house and told them that she would stay night at the house. Gangaram was not at house on that day. She mixed poison to the food which she served in a plate to Laxmi. During midnight, she hit Laxmi with a hammer and also her children who woked up hearing their mother’s screams. After killing all she left home at around 4am and left to Mysuru and returned to Gangaram’s house at around 10am acting like she didn’t knew anything.
However, police doubted on her behavior, who was sitting with women crying, that she got covered her face with her saree after seeing the news camera persons and asked them not to cover the visuals.
During interrogation she confessed to the crime.
